Animation has held a special place in my heart. The process of breathing life into inanimate objects has always fascinated me. Growing up in a rural town in Illinois, the dream of becoming a professional animator seemed like a distant possibility. Nevertheless, my passion persisted, and though temporarily set aside, it only intensified during my journey at Augustana College, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science in 2009.
My undergraduate years were transformative, instilling in me critical thinking skills, rational problem-solving abilities, and a profound understanding of the value of hard work. Post-college, I made my way to the bustling city of Chicago, where I rediscovered my old friend, Animation. In 2011, I further honed my craft by earning a Master's of Arts in Animation from DePaul University's College of Computing and Digital Media.
During my time at DePaul, I delved into the fundamentals of animation, unlocking the secrets to bring imaginations to life. The program not only equipped me with theoretical knowledge but also provided a hands-on experience in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, where I immersed myself in the practicalities of the Visual Effects (VFX) industry. This invaluable experience solidified my dedication to the craft and fueled my desire to contribute to the world of digital storytelling.
Today, I proudly wear the hat of a CG Generalist, weaving together a multitude of skills acquired over the years. As a visual effects artist, I bring a unique blend of technical expertise and creative flair to every project I undertake. My journey, from the serene landscapes of Illinois to the dynamic landscapes of the VFX industry, has shaped me into a versatile professional dedicated to pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling.
